Why do so many bassheads hate house, techno etc.?

I’m a fan of all genres although I have more of a passion for house and like to party/workout to bass but I just don’t get it. Is it like a status thing to seem cool? I’ve noticed a lot of bassheads act like bass is the only good style but I’d love some clarity. Seems like more of a “I like it because i like to be different” mindset.
