Efficient ways of getting some “analogue” sound?

I found my old Walkman the other day and some old cassettes and I can’t explain the amount of nostalgia it brought back. Having produced and mixed ITB for over a decade I realised I miss the analogue character. Digital is great for its versatility but I do miss analogue.

My current workflow is all ITB but I was thinking of the following process: - Mix tracks perfectly ITB - EQ, de-essing, sidechain etc - Bounce tracks to tape*, or bounce stems to tape - Capture these back to digital and master digitally

Tape* in this case could be some good quality cassette, not keen on a R2R machine purely because of the maintenance (as well as space). I’m not hellbent on “perfect” quality either. I don’t mind mixing a snare drum through cassette for example just for some character.

I’ve messed about with u-He Satin, McDSP Ac202 and TAPE by Softube, and they sound great but there’s something missing.

My budget is about £500 - £1k I’m considering the Denon DRS 810 on TDK SA60
