Update: I'm no longer a "husband"

Hello everyone! Sorry for the long post, this isn't a question but an update to a really old thread.

I'm the "husband" from "Could my husband be a girl, or am I projecting? How can I be helpful?" from over six years ago! Yesterday, my partner and I were talking about gender things and we got reminded of that post that they made about me, and I thought I'd give the community an update.

I'm happy to report that I've been on HRT for almost six months now!

My egg finally cracked about three years ago (I currently identify as non-binary). I came out to my partner a week later, and soon after they confessed that they asked this sub about me a few years prior and showed me the post above. I was shocked that I didn't see the signs myself, but I was 3 layers of eggshells deep in my denial/ignorance, and when I started reflecting on my childhood oooh boy everything came back and hit me like a truck. It's amazing how much you can miss if your brain isn't primed for it. Growing up I was put in a Catholic elementary school to "learn good morals", and also in my culture it was sort of implied by tradition that anyone who is not cishet is "different" and "weird". That definitely contributed to my internalized transphobia and why it took me so long to dismantle all of that and fully accept my partner and ultimately myself.

After my egg cracked I wasn't sure whether I wanted HRT, and I spent the next two-plus years thinking about it. I considered what kind of body shape/appearance I am most comfortable with, how I want others to see me, what will make me the most happy, and whether I'll regret it 30 years later if I didn't start. Now, after almost six months of hormones, I'm starting to get these moments where I can sit back, relax, and just feel the contentment in my body that I don't think was there before the estrogen. I'm also pleased with all the body changes that have been happening and I'm pretty excited about what's to come.

I'd like to thank this sub and some other subs (including the suggested egg_irl) for all your help the past few years! And to my partner (throwaway383743) I'll be forever grateful for the kindness, love, and support you provide me as we navigate our journeys alongside one another :)

Oh, and last year I finally cosplayed as Lightning Final Fantasy XIII at our local con and although I didn't look exactly the way I wanted to, it was an experience I will never forget.

TL;DR: My partner figured I was trans years before I did and now I'm on HRT and thriving
