Loved one in psychosis and refuses treatment. How do I help?
Sorry if this is the wrong channel for this. A family member of mine is pretty deep into psychosis and refuses treatment. I have gotten into contact with her therapist (I’m on her hippa consent so we’ve been able to talk freely) and we had a local non violent crisis team (through the fire department) come out but they were really no help. We were hoping for an involuntary admission to a hospital. I’m trying to help as best I can. I’ve reached out to every resource I could find online crisis hot lines everything feels like a dead end and I’m starting to lose hope.
I feel like I’m running out of time to actually help her. She’s lost her job due to this, and that’s only made things worse she thinks everyone’s out to get her and I believe she’s on the verge of losing her home even though she hasn’t told me yet just that she’s paranoid of all her bills that they’re being hacked. I’m not sure what to do at this point.
The stress from this is causing my mental health to deteriorate rapidly. I haven’t been able to sleep and have been isolating myself. I’ll be going for a hike tomorrow with friends so hopefully that will offer some clarity. Any advice or resources would be greatly appreciated. How do I help her moving forward?
