Is Space Marine 1 worth it im 2024?

Hi, im not really into Warhammer 40.000, I like It, but its too deep get into as a newcomer, i just waited to ask if the first Space Marine is worth It to play with a friend and randoms, i love gears of war and the facts that it has an horde mode just make me wanna play it but idk if its dead.
