Not sure what car to get for Washington roads

Hello, so I’m looking into buying a new 380 GTI. However, I’m moving to NW Washington state soon and I haven’t bought a car yet. I love the GTI but I’m worried about how bad the road conditions are there, with all the potholes and stuff. I just don’t want to tear up the car.

So is it better to get a GTI or a smaller SUV (ex. Porsche Macan) of some kind? Thank you.
