ULPT: Help me ruin a garbage person's life

My fiancé's dad just passed away and left the family with 0; the only thing left is an almost paid home so at least they have a place to live thankfully.

The day after his death, a "close friend" if my FIL maxed out ALL of his credit cards and cracked up over 25k

Police report has been filed, video footage obtained, person correctly identified, however, detectives are saying if we go to prosecute him (which is the current thought), he can claim he was given permission and likely not suffer prosecution.

Help me find a way to permanently ruin this guys life for the hurt and pain he has caused my family at a time when they are so vulnerable.

I should add that when this person immigrated to our country, they received an outrageous amount of support from the family so it is even more pathetic he could do something like this to them.

UPDATE: You've all somehow calmed me down with reassuring the family isn't screwed with covering the CCs and that the estate is protected (hopefully). If a lein is placed on the property, then idgaf because they aren't looking to sell anytime soon. Still looking to make this person's life difficult though.

FINAL UPDATE: Plan is to ruin person's reputation in their ethnic community and workplace. Hope is to make them feel alone and betrayed as they've made my family feel. Might reach out to local news outlet to expedite the process, but unsure as this means my family gets in the cross hairs.
