Uber Eats is definitely stealing tips

So last night I had a shop & pay order that once my night was over, the app said the customer reduced the tip.

Because it was late, I know support will say no supervisor is available, so I said I’ll wait until morning to call.

I call this morning and I tell them I want to block the customer and get my compensation. Usually, they give me the whole ‘just so you know tip is not mandatory’ bull crap and pay me the difference.

However, this time I talk to a couple agents, got bounced around, and then my call was transferred to just white noise. I hung up the phone.

As I was trying to call back, magically, my Account says ‘you received a $XXXX tip from a customer. I checked my earnings and now the customer’s tip was there all of a sudden.

So now I’m thinking the many times I blocked a customer thinking they were being a••holes, how many was Uber Eats stealing the tip and just hoping I wouldn’t say anything?

Has anyone else experienced this?

Also, I found out through Papa Johns that when you order on their website, the apps take away a percentage of the tips that customers give the drivers. Can’t trust these gig apps a lot of shady crap going on.
