So, the Bible…

I am a Deist, but I usually say Atheist for simplicity, as my views align with both in ways.

All of Christianity is based off of the words of the Bible, no? All Christian guidelines, morals, and such are all derived from the text of the Bible. What you claim to be the “truth” is out of the Bible.

So what makes the Bible any more legitimate than, say, the Buddhist Tripitaka? Buddhists gain all of their guidelines, morals, and such from their book.

I don’t think you can claim the Bible is the truth based off of the words in it… when others can claim their book is the truth based off of the words in IT.

I believe in a deist/athirst outlook on life where there is no holy scripture that is truly the word of a “god”.
