Online vs. IRL Fashion

I've noticed this strange sort of schism with the fashion I see online and what I actually see people wearing in the street.

For example, when I think of the quintessential 2025 men's silhouette it's: relaxed/baggy pants, chunky loafers/minimalist sneakers, boxy tee & jacket. When I actually see what people are wearing in the street it feels like thats only about 5% of the population. Seems like the vast majority still prefer a slim cut pant and foam running shoes lol

I think r/mensfashion perfectly encapsulates what I'm talking about. They sort of seem to be stuck in 2017 style wise and theres a night and day difference between the fit check friday's posted here and what they post over there. Often when a more relaxed fit gets posted there the top comment will be something like "I just refuse to wear baggy jeans they look sloppy etc".

Idk just noticing things I guess. Curious if anyone else feels the same.

If you live in a very fashion forward city like NYC or Paris, you can ignore this post lol
