What’s with all the hate & review bombing this show is getting?

I just got around to watching Acolyte and I absolutely loved it, watched all 4 episodes that are out. Being a non American I decided to google it to see if other people were enjoying it and when the other other episodes were coming out and all I saw were people bashing it and review bombing it for no apparent reason. Like what’s “woke” about this show I’m thoroughly confused lol
