Someone said How did it end ? Is pretentious!!!

I was discussing TTPD with my colleague. He was adamant that that album does not have a single good song. I made him sit with me and played How did it end? And the audacity of this man to call it pretentious??!!! Like how???

I asked him to explain his point and he was like why is she crying so much about a break up ??? Acting as if she went through a tragedy???

I tried to explain him how well written that song is because she is explaining in the song that why the relationship ended like legit telling us how did it end and also calling people out for being so invested in her life.

He said that again she was being arrogant/pretentious like who wants to know about her personal life. Who is asking her???

But that's not how it works. Even for people who are not celebrity or famous it is hard to explain that why that relationship ended ( I am sorry for not putting this more eloquently) but you all get it right??

When I told him that this song literally hurt my heart he said yeah maybe you felt so much and I didn't because I listen to radiohead and they sing about real problems and real dipressing things.

I just wanted rant to someone.
