Fiancée and I live together and have 4 kids together, she made 3,000$ more than I did for the year (was off with surgery) but I normally claim HOH

Does HoH automatically fall to whoever made the most per year if that’s your tax Choice? Or should I continue to claim HoH like I’ve done in previous years
