Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Issues & Complaints

Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a unique experience—chilling in all the right ways. But with its accomplishments come major issues, particularly in balance and updates.

The game feels clunky, and with updates rolling out only every four months, it gets stale fast. It’s been over a year, yet we’ve only seen three maps released. Worse, crucial balance changes remain untouched. Johnny can still three-shot victims without losing stamina, and the killers feel both overpowered and underwhelming at the same time.

On the other side, victims have an absurd number of ways to stun killers. They can knock you down by opening a door, stab you with a bone shard, stun you with a knife, blind you, and even ram you with Leland. How many stun abilities do victims really need? It’s constant, making killer gameplay frustrating. The only way to reliably win is either having Johnny on your team or facing completely inexperienced victims.

This game needs serious changes:

Cook needs increased speed and stamina.

Sissy & Hitchhiker need massive damage buffs.

Johnny needs a heavy nerf.

Connie & Leland need major nerfs.

Sonny needs a big health and stamina boost.

Bone shards should be rarer to reduce spam.

These changes would reduce toxicity, limit overused mechanics like Connie and Johnny spamming, and create a more balanced experience where both killers and victims have a fair shot. It shouldn’t be that hard to implement, yet the devs haven’t even acknowledged these issues. It’s disappointing.

If I were the developer, things would be completely different—frequent updates, real balancing, and a shift away from “realism” in favor of actual fun. It’s about the players. Cross-progression and custom lobbies would also be a priority.

This game has so much potential, but right now, it’s just frustrating.
