2g to 0g

So I've been at a 2 for quite awhile, well over a month now. And I tried going to 0g today. Tried to get a 0g taper through and couldn't get it after a certain point without feeling as if I jumped a whole size. Should I just send it or should I invest in the in-between sizes like 1g (7mm) and so on.
