Steam deck Controller recommendations

Hello, this is the first console I have bought and don't know anything about good controllers. I've looked through the reddit before, but the posts are older than I would like. To be honest, I thought the steam deck would have removable controllers like a Nintendo switch.

Now that I have learned, I have no clue where to start. I'm looking for a cheaper option.
