Restaurant to take my boyfriend for his birthday

Hi guys. As the title says, I am trying to figure out a nice fine dining restaurant to take my boyfriend too. We have never been to a higher end one, so I really have no idea on where to go. He's not picky about food, but I know he likes steak. I was looking at Carmine’s Steak House as an option, but the "market price" on the menu scared me. I was also looking at Brasserie by Niche. Any thoughts?
