Are pimps still around and why tf would anyone need one?

Excuse my ignorance but I don’t understand the concept of pimps in today’s world. Why would anyone want to share a % of their pvssy sales? I’ve been a SWer for 3-ish years in the digital age so can someone enlighten me why anyone would need or want a pimp. Is this still a big thing anymore? Just curious.
