Library and Information Studies

I'm 19, in the USA and am looking for university options in Canada due to the political climate here and lack of options in my degree (and my wallet...) IT is a 2 year program and in the USA there isn't on-campus housing for tech schools. I believe Canada does which is very helpful. Has anyone done this program and/or a student from the USA? Cost is important to me since I am financially responsible for myself when it comes to college. W the financial funding cut/freeze and current education cost in the USA, it cannot be much worse lol. How would you rate your education and experience w teachers? Hands on experience? Safety of the campus/town? I don't plan on attending college until the fall. Depends on finances and current bills.
