Am I always gonna feel awful?
Hey guys I’ve been taking Semaglutide for a couple months now, I take my 3rd dose of month 3 tomorrow. It was really rough initially, I accidentally took too much and was violently ill for days. After that it was smooth sailing until the 30/40 unit range. Now anytime I eat I can feel it rotting in my stomach even through the next day. TMI but today I got awful diarrhea and at the same time feel bloated like I just gorged on food. I’m eating small healthy meals only when hungry/not nauseous (pretty much once per day). The amount that I’m eating is laughably small (I would guess less than 500 calories a day), yet I feel like I’m being punished for it.
When I was in the ER after my “overdose” (took month 3 dose for first shot) the doctor told me that this medicine helps you lose weight by making you sick. I’ve not been able to get that out of my head since. I really need to lose weight for my health, I was pre diabetic with high blood pressure at 23. But I also don’t want to be unable to enjoy life because I’m always sick.
Has anyone had similar side effects? Did they go away with time? Do I have to just tough it out? Any advise is appreciated
Editing to add: my boyfriend thinks I should try Betaine HCL Pepsin and Gentian bitters to help the food rot. There’s not much research on this stuff, has anyone else tried it or anything else?
