Cape Coats are Great!
I got a cape coat for Christmas. It's the kind of garment designed by and for the United Kingdom and Ireland. It's perfect for Seattle weather!
- Keeps the drizzling rain off.
- Warm, but not too warm. Good for mildly cold temperatures above freezing.
- Remains warm when wet.
- Drys quickly. (use a fan if it's really wet)
- Keeps the wind off, letting warm underlayers do their job.
- Keeps everything you're carrying dry, including grocery bags and headphones.
- Hood up means "no contact" / Hood down means "open to contact"
- Quick and easy to sling on or off your shoulders.
Random people keep telling me it's cool, but they didn't get or wear one because it makes them self-conscious. It stands out because nobody else is wearing one.
I think we need to start a new functional fashion trend. As fit as they are for this weather, it's a wonder they're not more popular.

I got it as a gift. Luckily, the maker left their logo on the inner seam.
