Shout out to WA's Death with Dignity laws

My father passed just before the new year, and having experienced both ends of the spectrum, I am exceptionally grateful for how much better the option for a legal choice to end one's life on their own terms makes the experience. It's still awful and sad, but it removes so much of the uncertainty, suffering, and trauma tied to waiting for it to happen the "natural" way when suffering from a debilitating affliction that will eventually end your life. We got to have a good last day together, tell each other we love each other and express our thanks, and then end the afflictions on his terms.

End of Life Washington is a great site for information about ALL of the options.
