High Wind event Tuesday afternoon/evening, especially for Eastside and Foothills

Hello all,

I’m a weather obsessive and we could be in for a really bad wind event Tuesday!

This is a very rare Easterly wind wave caused by the giant “bomb cyclone” forming off the coast. The latest models have 50-60 mph gusts for Seattle / Tacoma, and even higher for the foothills (Enumclaw, North Bend, Issaquah, ect) starting Tuesday afternoon and overnight to Wednesday.

Because the wind will be coming from the East the impacts could be MUCH MUCH HIGHER than usual as trees are shaped and strengthened over decades to deal with the more standard wind directions.

If the cyclone was coming closer to shore it would be absolutely catastrophic, but it’s projected to simply spin off shore and eventually dissipate.
