Why do people think that Scottish independence would be a failure?

I am not Scottish so no biastry on my end.

I do think Scotland has good mineral resources to support itself.

Btw Scotland seperating from the UK would be like Canada/Australia/NZ back in the late 19th/early 20th century's aka very peacefully and still apart of the Commonwealth.
