Backlink “as featured on _____” enough?

I am working on a website that links to a lot of other websites (think things to do in city ___). I am looking at reaching out the the companies I have links to on my site asking if they can add a Link to my site. I was planning on asking something as simple as them putting an “as featured on www……mysite.com” thing on. Would this count as a quality back link? Or does there need to be more stuff from them?
