Rising of Racism?

Hi everyone, first of all, the main reason behind my post is just discussion and understanding each other better.

I lived in KSA when I was young. My family worked in many unis here in different cities (They love these days so much and still have tens of friends), and I studied in STEM schools. Most of my classmates were Saudis, of course, and literally all of them were my friends. I daresay that I didn’t face a single moment when I felt any kind of racism.

I left KSA many years ago and got my uni degree. Currently, I’m a freelancer, and it was a dream of mine to spend some time here alone, restoring memories. The new visa laws are so good, by the way (Just having an EU or UK visa, you can enter!).

It’s my 2nd month here. Many things have changed. I’m not into discussing these, but in general. There’s a dramatic increase in racism and, sorry to say- facist speech! I, who didn’t face a single racist during my high school years (and after all, we were kids), am now facing racism so badly!

I returned to check KSA social media again, and man! There are dedicated pages just to insult other nationalities. I really don’t understand what happened?

We are humans, and people from all nationalities do the good and the bad. I travelled to multiple countries throughout the recent years. There are racists everywhere, but the overall community behavior is generally tolerant. I really understand being upset with certain behaviors, the economic situation and the unemployment. But I saw levels of extreme racism like people complaining from certain nationalities or ethnic groups visiting makkah medinah.

Another thing that made me really confused and mad that many people in social media talking so badly about Palestinians the recent conflicts. I remember so well how the school books in KSA discuss this conflict and how we - as KSA- are involved on it. It’s very weird to see people promoting -sorry to say that- zionist propaganda. I really thought it was kind of bots but I really don’t understand.

I’m open to any discussion, and again let me assure you I don’t mean anything wrong.
