Mistakes vs “bad decisions”
I’ve been dealing with this for almost five years now. It has gotten better thanks to Zoloft and therapy (albeit not ERP therapy) and it’s not as bad as it used to be (used to not be able to leave my room/the house) so I guess you could call that an improvement.
Anyways. I see a lot of people talk and discuss about the different between mistakes and bad decisions. Some people use them interchangeably but there are some people who are very adamant about there being a difference.
For example. Someone does something bad. Person will take accountability and say that made a mistake but this makes people angry and responders will say
“A mistake is when you forget a step during a math equation, a mistake is forgetting your wallet on your way to work, a mistake is forgetting about your friend’s birthday….doing (said event) is NOT a mistake that’s a decision they intentionally chose to do so fuck that shit they deserve to feel like shit and d!e”
And idk it just makes me confused. Have I been downplaying what I’ve done all this time by calling them “mistakes”? Maybe I do deserve to be punished and unworthy of nothing then.
I hope this isn’t triggering if it is I’ll delete asap. Just seeing if anyone feels similar or etc
