Looking Ahead: RCB’s Future in the Post-Virat Kohli Era

•As Virat will be 39 by the end of this three-year auction cycle, we need to lock in a marquee Indian player who can carry the franchise forward. Targeting this player in the mega auction makes sense, as it would give him three years to settle in, adapt to the team culture, and allow the fans to get attached to him.

•While Rishabh Pant is an incredible talent, his recklessness and attitude might not fit RCB’s needs.

•KL Rahul, though technically sound, may struggle with the mental pressure of being the “local boy” expected to deliver consistently.

•That leaves us with Shreyas Iyer, although DC probably has their sights set on him, and we may have to use a big chunk of our purse due to a potential bidding war.

•For me, the dream choice is Shubman Gill—though the move would be very complex for the future unless GT decides to make another brain fart after Hardik Pandya.

•A more attainable option could be Rachin Ravindra. I personally feel some fans might not like this since he’s a Kiwi, but he has Bangalore roots, and being a left-hander is a bonus.
