Will an Official Multiplayer Format Ever Come to Pokemon TCG?

Commander is considered bigger than traditional 1v1 Magic, and more and more games are coming out with officially supported multiplayer formats (Shadowverse - Glory Finder, Force of Will - Arcana Battle Colosseum, etc.)

Do you think Pokemon will ever come out with an officially supported multiplayer format? I feel like if any other TCG could pull it off, it would be Pokemon, with it being the most popular TCG, having a Standard Rotation, and geared to casual pick-up and play (but hard to master).

I know they released an officially endorsed boss raid mode against Giant Pikachu that was multiplayer, and honestly, it was a lot of fun.
