Toddler ONLY misbehaves at school. Help :(

Hi Everyone,

Looking for some advice or solidarity. My son just turned 3 earlier this month and he's been having behaviors at school that teachers have complained to us about and we're super upset. Apparently he's had incident reports for throwing toys, dumping his food on the floor, pushing/hitting classmates. We are at a loss because he is not like this AT ALL anywhere else, this is super not typical behavior for him. We hate to sound like those parents that say my child would never, but literally he never does these things. We take him EVERYWHERE: family's house, playgrounds, theme parks, friends' houses, restaurants, museums, etc, and even strangers comment to us about how well-behaved he is. Are we naive to think something at school is a trigger for him?

For context, he is an English-speaking toddler and both teachers in his class are Spanish-speakers, only ONLY speaks Spanish and the other knows English but only speaks in English to him if he has done something wrong or to get his attention. Instruction, circle time, etc is all in Spanish. My husband and I think it's the language barrier or maybe he's bored because he's also beyond some of the activities they do. I'm a teacher so I don't want to feel like I'm making excuses for his behavior, but he really does not do these things anywhere but school. Is this normal? What can we do to help? Lately, he's been crying everyday at drop-off. Today his teacher told me he's been "terrible" and it broke my heart. I don't want my son seen as "the bad kid".

I know I'm just rambling at this point. I appreciate any replies. Thank you!
