WELKIN GIVEAWAY!!! And Subreddit Updates
Hello Nilou Nation!
We got something special for you today! To celebrate our community getting bigger and bigger, we have decided to hold a giveaway! We will be giving away five welkin moons to five lucky people. To enter the giveaway, simply comment what do you like about Nilou on this post. We will then use a comment picker to randomly choose five winners. Needless to say, any duplicate comments will NOT be counted. The giveaway will end on September 25th, 2022 at 11:59 EST. Any users that don't enter by the end date will not be considered for the giveaway.
Now to talk about some subreddit updates.
"Rule 7: Megathreads" Update
First things first, we will be enforcing our Rule 7: Megathreads. For those that need a reminder:
"Simple/recurring questions that don't generate discussion, such as asking for builds, account-specific team comps, or “this or that” questions, belong in our respective Megathreads. Questions that require specific calculations or discuss unique theorycrafting may be posted with the appropriate discussion flair. You can find the megathread here."
For those wondering why are we enforcing this now and not before, well it was for a couple of reasons.
- There were no reliable guides/calculators so we couldn't direct users to a place with such information.
- Nilou’s kit was still changing and in development so things like BiS, weapon choices, teams, etc could have easily changed as well.
- Theorycrafting for the dendro element and reactions is still in its early stages and theorycrafters needed to do extensive and proper calcs for Nilou.
Because of these reasons, any question really could have been considered a "good" question. However, thanks to our wonderful TC Team, we finally have a Nilou FAQ and Mastersheet so we can finally faithfully direct our users to a place with accurate information. Now, some of you might be wondering, what qualifies as a "good" or "bad" question? Frankly, any question that can be answered easily from viewing our Nilou FAQ and Mastersheet will be removed. Here are some example of "good" and "bad" questions.
"Bad" Questions:
- What is her best F2P weapon?
- What is her best artifact set?
- Is X character good for Nilou’s bloom team?
"Good" Questions:
- I plan to use X team. Does anyone know what is the proper rotation for this?
- I am planning to use Nilou in a vape team. Here is a screenshot of my characters. What would be the best team for this playstyle?
- I recently finished up my build for Nilou. Here is a screenshot. Is there any way to improve my build?
Since neither the FAQ or the Mastersheet really goes into details about teambuilding for other playstyles than bloom and has no set artifact “goals” for teammates, posts like these are totally okay. TLDR; If it can be answered from the resources we already have, then it will be removed.
Subreddit Appearance:
Some of you may already noticed but we have updated the look of our subreddit on both new and old reddit, all thanks to one of our moderators, u/arcuves. We also have custom upvote and downvote icons all courtesy of our Art Team over at the Nilou Mains Discord. And this is only the beginning! Our Art Team is currently working on a new custom banner and body background for subreddit so look forward to seeing sometime before Nilou's release!
Staff Applications:
We have decided to open up our subreddit moderator apps again! If you want to help support our community and help it grow, then become a subreddit moderator by applying here. The application is short but please take your time on the longer questions to express your interest! Experience is not a must, but activity on Reddit is greatly considered. Discord is required for communication between fellow moderators. We will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis. Good Luck!
