What are you durrently doing with Sledgehammers?

Let's assume no upgrades, because they can be super situational. Don't think one stands out tho.

They seem super outclassed to me in the game right now. So easily countered by steel balls in the same cost range, their low fire rate makes them ineffective against fangs/crawlers. If you need a bit of "higher" damage or hp there's now tarantula with way way more hp. Also Sledgehammers have low movement rate, kinda standard attack range.

So why would anyone ever invest in Sledgehammers? It just feels like the new one really fucked up on balancing. Wouldn't be a problem if they weren't included in the initial setups but currently they are. So 1-2 setups I don't want to pick because Sledgehammers are in it. Really doesn't feel like I have an option there.
