Foot positioning when pressing down on clutch

I’ve been driving manual for 5 months now and paired with a driving sim I’ve pretty much got everything down. One question I have is in videos I’ve noticed most people will have their clutch foot completely “floating” throughout the whole process, on and off.

I find it insanely difficult to hold consistent pressure without accidentally backing off too fast. I’ve always shifted by: the moment the clutch is depressed into the floor, my heel hits the floor and stays glued until my foot is fully off the clutch, allowing for support.

Is this bad or wrong to do? Or is there nothing wrong with it? Would it be good to just practice not ever having my foot hit the floor while clutching?
