6.5 PRC Build Help

Goal is to build a lightweight 6.5 PRC that main use will be sheep/goat hunting (more specifically Aoudad because I’m poor). It will also occasionally be used for NRL hunter but just as a way to hone skills. Not chasing points.

On to the questions.

Can I use a short action? I’m worried about COAL running a short action PRC. I would like to use the short action so I can switch between 6.5 CM and the PRC setup. I already have a lot of stuff for the CM (Reloading, bullets, etc…). Just think I need more than a CM for a distant shot at a sheep.

Are Titanium actions worth the up charge to save the weight? I see some TI actions down around the 20oz range but I also see skeletonized steel actions in the mid to high 20oz range. I have also read some TI actions have issues with galling and smooth operation.

Finally any insight or build recommendations are appreciated. My overall goal is to build a 10 - 12 lbs (less is fine) goat rifle. Budget is up in the air but is healthy. I also don’t want to buy off the shelf because I love (semi) building my own rifles but will if that’s the best option.

Edit 1: I would also like to use a shorter barrel an suppressor combo so any insight into that is appreciated too. I’m think a 20” barrel with a can.
