Story

OK, so I'm playing little nightmares now. I just escaped jail (or so the achievement of steam has me believe). But im confused, where is the story element? Or am I just very impatient and is it going to come soon? Oooor is this the only way the story is conveyed? Is it just visual and Im supposed to fill in the story myself?
