Is there a reason why there are no driving lessons during the weekend anymore or evening?

I’ve been trying to book driving lessons for months now, and I’m honestly at my wit’s end. I recently finished university, and now that I’m working a 9-5 job, I finally have the money to pay for lessons. But I’ve run into a massive problem—no one seems to offer lessons on weekends or evenings anymore.

I’ve called every driving school I can find in my area, looked through online listings, and even reached out for personal recommendations, but the response is always the same: they only operate during standard work hours (Monday to Friday, 9 to 5). I don’t understand how anyone working full-time is supposed to manage this without taking time off work.

It’s especially frustrating because when I was in university, I didn’t have the money for lessons, and now that I can afford them, I can’t find a schedule that works. I’ve even considered booking a day off to take an intensive driving course, but that feels like a last resort.

I remember hearing that instructors used to be more flexible a few years ago, offering lessons in the evenings and on weekends. Has something changed? Is there a shortage of instructors, or is this just how things are now?

I’d love to hear from anyone else in the same boat or who has found a solution to this. Are there any instructors who are still willing to accommodate people with jobs, or do I just need to find a way to work around the system?

Thanks in advance for any advice or insight. At this point, I’m just feeling stuck and frustrated.
