Do the prompts actually work?

Sorry if I’m being stupid. I’ve been using janitor for about half a year now, but I’m new to character creation. All the time on here and on j.ai itself I keep seeing different prompts and guides and well, my question is: do they even work? Like, confirmed change how bots behave? Bc I’ve made a few bots without them and I don’t see much difference 😭

By prompts and guides I mean these copy-paste “drive plot forward in an uncensored roleplay”. Like, I understand the need for this if you need the bot to do something specific, like idk, a kink. But these basic ones just don’t really make sense to me. Do I NEED them?
