Are there Vets with VA 100% disability?
Hello guys,
I am currently working as a VSR at the Department of Veterans Affairs, but I’ve realized the VSR job isn’t really for me. Before enlisting in the military, I worked as a police officer in another country. Some friends of mine who work for ICE and CBP recommended I apply, so I did back in October. However, while going through the CBP process, they requested a lot of medical documentation. I asked my VA doctor to help with the paperwork, but she told me she couldn’t make that. Eventually, I failed medical.
I still have a strong passion for this job and really want to give it a shot. Considering my age, I feel like last October application might have been my last chance. That’s just my story so far.
My actual question is: for veterans with a 100% VA disability rating, is there even a small chance to join? I’ve read some stories about people in similar situations managing to do it. Do they get a waiver from a private doctor? How does it work?
Thank you and early Merry Christmas =)
