How prestigious and important is the rank of Chairman within the Hunter Organization?

Like, if I was a Hunter and I got voted to be the Chairman, what would I be expecting? What kind of responsibilities would I be in charge of?

Is the rank prestigious? Commands respect? Like discussing business with powerful people (Ex. Monarchs) kind of prestige?

Am I now under the threat of assassination?

Like, if Gon's goal was to become Chairman instead of looking for his deadbeat dad, where would that lead him?
