Does anyone else think that Social Media makes people do the most useless crap?

8000 step skincare routine?
Taping your mouth when going to sleep so you don't get wrinkles?
Throwing 5054 types of green vegetable powders into your smoothie?
Hyperanalysing everything?

If that is your hobby, go ahead and follow it. But it can't be denied how wasteful such excessive routines are especially for the results they bring. Which are so minimal, that you would be better off not doing them at all.

A simple skincare routine that was given to you by a derm is more than sufficient. It will probably work better.

I feel like people don't follow through the bottom of the pyramid, which is sleep, hydration, exercise, diet and love to heap on more and more stuff when it comes to skincare, makeup etc because that is simply easier to do and fulfills their desires to consume something.

Tbh, this might be an unpopular opinion now, if you have to have a super extensive routine every single day to look good, maybe you aren't that attractive to begin with and perhaps you should be focusing on other things that on the long run will bring you better results (like actually losing the weight).

And like I said, your money/time your choice. Go ahead and burn it for all I care. Just wanna tell the people that might think, that you need these things in order to improve, that this is not the case. All these influencers with their super extensive routines are doing it for show and probably getting work done regularly (it is not their collagen matcha each morning which gives them that plump, clear skin)
