Modem to Basement?

After many years in my home and even more being somewhat tech savvy, I have decided to really take a closer look at my home network and make improvements where they make sense.

My first project is going to be running ethernet to any devices that can plug in directly and won't require major house work to run the lines.

My first question is, is there any benefit to moving my cable modem?

Currently my cable modem is in my living room:

Coax from outside -> female-female connector -> coax to living room -> coax wall outlet -> coax to modem -> ethernet to router

I could move my cable modem to the basement and plug in directly to the incoming coax, and then run ethernet to the living room for the router. I would then need to run ethernet back to the basement since that's where it makes the most sense to put a switch. I am just not sure if moving the modem actually gains me anything.

If it matters, here is what I have: Modem - Arris SB8200

Router - Linksys Dual Band WiFi 5
