Would blackout curtains be too cluttered?

This is the living room of the house I’m moving into. For context: I’m going with neutrals/blues/grays for a beachy vibe. I’m also going to be putting a sofa/love seat, coffee table, and media center where the tv is, plus a corner kitchen table instead of round.

These windows face south, and it’s in Florida, so I’ve been leaning towards some beige linen blackout curtains to keep the heat down. Also because I get migraines and light sensitivity.

But when I’m looking at it, I’m thinking hanging the curtain rod above the windows and having 12 panels worth of blackout curtains might just be too much since it’s a small space. Should I just get some shades instead that are like rattan? Or shades+sheer curtains? I’ve been looking at it too long and need advice. TIA!!
