Flowers?

I’m in chapter five and I’ve only just bought and moves to the vase instead of the plant pot. How do I change the flowers in it? I only have red ones and I really don’t like them and I know people have other flowers, does anyone know how to change them or if I need to have it equipped for a certain amount of time?
