Advice for getting Electrical Engineering internships as someone with a Physics BS?

I am studying physics, and will graduate this spring (GPA 3.96). In the fall, I will be starting graduate school for electrical engineering. I am looking for an electrical engineering internship for this coming summer, but so far I have not had much luck. This spring I will be taking a couple undergrad EE courses, including a C++ programming course for ECE students, and a digital design course with Verilog. I have also spent a ton of time outside of school and work to learn Matlab and Simulink, and I know Python already. I feel like my credentials are good, especially since I'm only looking for internships that undergrads would apply for, but I can't seem to get anything. So I was wondering if anyone might have some advice?

Should I put skills like Verilog and C++ in my resume, since I should in theory have these skills by the time the internship starts, even though I am not currently familiar with them?
