Idea for next build
I have been hooked to the game since Christmas.
I have done the following builds, I finished the game with a couple of them, but usually I stop after I hit Mountaintops of the Giants.
- Tanky character with a greatshield and zero spells. This is always my first type of character I do in every RPG if it is possible. I found it fun when I played it, but later on it is probably one of the least interesting character I had and also felt the weakest and I struggled a lot on some bosses. I actually respecced because I could not beat the Elden Beast.
- Faith priest. I had a lot of fun with this, I used mostly black fire spells. Felt fun and strong.
- Dexterity dual wielder. I absolutely hated how boring dual wielding felt, I never got comfortable using L1 instead of R1 and R2 and the gameplay felt much worse. I did not feel strong either.
- Two hander strength. I really like how combat felt, and sometimes my damage was so insane that I felt bad for bosses. I ended up mostly using the Ruins Greatsword, but there were so many options. Very enjoyable build.
- Mage. This was really cool for a while, but around Altus I started feeling like I was always just using the same pebble spells and then it got boring. Super strong, but also boring. I actually used the Death's Poker more than spells, it felt more fun.
- Dragon Incantations and arcane weapons, I mostly used the Marais Sword. This was really fun and powerful. I loved the variety of dragon spells and giving rot to a boss was always funny. Sometimes it felt insanely strong, but sometimes when the boss was very quick I could do almost nothing without the help of my ash summons.
What should I try next? Something that feels different compared to what I have done before. Archer is something I have been considering, but I have heard it is garbage and getting arrows requires farming, which I will not do.
