Trying to get into Elden Ring, Any Tips?

I know that Elden ring came out a while ago, and I have wanted to get into it for a while, but I just seem to struggle with the gameplay, but I want to play, which I am sure sounds dumb. But do you guys have any tips for someone brand new with no playtime in any souls game?
