House being egged by teenagers

I live in D8 and this is the 3rd time my house was egged by teenagers. Thankfully all three times my window was shut so it did not come inside but usually I have my windows open. On New Year’s Eve, they threw eggs on my balcony and one of my friends got hit.

Does anyone know what this is about? Isn’t this considered vandalism? I am pretty sure I can’t track these people down and reporting to Garda seems excessive. Has anyone experienced something similar?
