Why do dogs get so many health complications?

This thought crosses my mind from time to time. Now after some scrolling on reddit Im sad to see people losing their dogs because of a tumor as the majority of complications. Why does this happen so much? Ive seen more dogs than other pets or even people deal with tumors...
