Is _____ Ship Forced?
Anarissa, Maristasia, whatever you wanna call it.
Does anyone else think it’s forced? I’d argue the most forced would been Dispencer but there’s been literal drama surrounding it so I can kinda give it a pass.
First off, both are canonically lesbians
Out of who is left on Blue Team, Natalia is Trans, Richard is Gay, Lynda is clearly straight and prejudice, Logan has plenty of hints being Bi, and Isabel is a nun sooo yeah
It’s kinda funny how the only two Lesbians on the team just HAPPEN to fall for each other?
I don’t know if the writers know this but…
Just because two people are the same sexuality, don’t mean they suddenly have google eyes for them.
While I agree that Marissa and Anastasia have chemistry, the fact that they MAGICALLY fall for each other, coincidentally with them ALSO being the ONLY lesbians on the team is quite…obvious lmao
Some lesbians may just wanna be friends with each other but, come on, this ain’t our first rodeo.
Realistically not any lesbian who sees a lesbian is attracted to them, and idk, the fact that the two lesbians just oh so HAPPEN to be attracted to each other is rather funny ngl
Of course that’s a more minor point, I think a big reason it feels forced is for just how it’s portrayed.
- Anastasia supports Marissa for always treating her as a person
When in the flying fuck did the other members on blue team NOT treat her as a person? (Blue team specifically)
- Biases
It’s giving Duncney vibes from TDI
Remember the fear challenge? Courtney called out Dj for being scared of a snake
But she is suddenly kind and caring to Duncan for a STANDEE?
Anastasia is the same, she is literally hard on ANYINE other than Marissa, there’s not even been ONE time where Anastasia is mad or frustrated with Marissa, the best argument you could make is when Marissa was considering new-inviting Lynda but still, she never did it in a condescending tone.
- Connections
This one is pretty straightforward, it’s shown that they “have so much chemistry” is because they rarely have chemistry with ANYONE else, even FRIENDS!
And this is kinda my issue with the girls alliance as a whole, while the pairs are cool, they literally don’t talk to anyone else in the alliance like one on one.
The only thing Anastasia has gotten is her budding competition with Logan, and her aggressive rivalry with Lynda
And speaking of, that’s LITERALLY ALL MARISSA HAS!
Seriously, I bet you can’t name any other interactions Marissa has had other than with Lynda or Anastasia!
This is the biggest factor of this feeling forced.
Since the two characters barely interact with anyone outside of their partner, it makes it come across as anyone else doesn’t connect with them, so they can use the excuse that “you treat me as a person” as valid.
I love their chemistry, and I do think they’re cute together, EVEN if I’m not fond of one of the characters in general, I admit they’re cute.
But to say this ship ONC has been showing doesn’t feel at least a tad bit forced, is just iffy. 🤷🏻♂️
