Top level romance scam

I am writing this and sharing my experience for many reasons but also to make you vigilant.

I met a girl in a dating app, we talked for a week, exchanged pictures and little videos. Hence we even video chatted but then crypto trading came up. She told me she was a daytrader and she could teach me about it. Also she love bombed me from the start with sweet texts and kiss sending videos and such.

But today, just some hours ago I agreed on the lessons she wanted to give me. She told me to create an account on crypto.com which was okay for me. Crypto.com is a legit platform. But then after I bought some crypto she told me to forward them to another website which is made for short term trading in the crypto market. It's domain is m.bit2mess.com. There my inner alarms went off. The website looked fishy to me and after some checks with Google, whois and other security checks I found out this domain is pretty young only 2 months old (she said she is trading there for 2 years) and I even checked the site/company in the register of financial authorities. I pulled out the cryptos I sent there and told her about the security issues.

At this moment I thought she would be impressed or at least concerned but she didn't even tried to discuss or understand and hit me with the "you don't trust me" bullshit. I told her I trusted her but not the website and I want her and her assets to be safe too. But oh boy she then kept saying I don't trust her and I shouldn't write her anymore because of the missing trust.

Then it struck to me and after doing a short consultation with chatgpt, it informed me that the website has a warning about "romance scams". I informed myself and her behavior became even more suspicious in that time. She called the red flags "useless" and I would waste time and so on. As I said I then pulled out the cryptos which worked but then I wanted to have fun. I gave her a "nice" last message and blocked her, contacted the support and confronted them with my investigations. Peak comedy was when I asked them where they are registered so I can look them up at the financial authorities and they told me "you vip level is too low for that information".

Thanks to my inner guts I didn't loose money (only the transfer fees) and am now an experience richer.

Therefore please stay vigilant if you meet someone online, everything is perfect, same interests and so on and even don't take their identity as granted even though you are video chatting. This whole process was a week long.

Stay safe!
